Mitzi’s Aunt Barbara has had a significant presence in Mitzi’s life since she was born (as has Mitzi’s uncle), and today just happens to be Aunt Barbara’s birthday! Aunt Barbara has been wonderful about keeping Mitzi connected and has gone out of her way to make Mitzi’s favorite meals when she wasn’t eating much, or just to provide a much needed stop on one of our Hug Parades.
When I could, I would take Mitzi to pick out cards for various occasions and she would do her best to sign them. This was a huge labor of love and she always insisted on writing on her own until it was just too hard. It then became too difficult and upsetting to her, but I think her card to Aunt Barbara on her birthday back in 2017 will stand the test of time for how Mitzi feels about her…????
