Tuesday is Bible Study day. We love Tuesdays. When Mitzi’s driving independence was first taken away, Bible Study on Tuesdays seemed like the perfect place to bring her, even though the church advertises itself as being full of imperfect people! This isn’t her home church, so she was a visitor at first and is now an honorary member. She loves this group of ladies and credits their unconditional love and acceptance of her for pulling her out of that very tough season in her Alzheimer’s journey. She has shared with me many times that having a place to go where who she was before Alzheimer’s wasn’t following her and lurking in the shadows, but rather these ladies only knew her as she is now, and welcomed her with open arms. We’re both very grateful for this space and these souls who have embraced her with so much love.
