Bringing Awareness, Hope & Encouragement To The Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia

We’ve been spending Wednesdays with Mitzi’s Aunt and Uncle and a very dear family friend each week. It’s a tremendous blessing to go to the house for a home cooked meal, no distractions, and Mitzi’s favorite ice cream. Communication these days is haphazard, but the familiarity of the folks around the table seem to really put her at ease. Plus, as her energy tends to dwindle right after lunch lately, they completely understand when Mitzi and I have to head out soon after eating. It’s truly a gift to have that grace and the precious quality time.

Since today is Ash Wednesday, and since we were with her aunt on the same day two years ago, I thought I’d share this cute picture of our visit with Aunt Barbara in 2017. We weren’t going to make it to church that day, but Barbara had been helping with ashes earlier that morning at her church and didn’t want us to miss out. What a sweet memory to look back on today! ????
