Bringing Awareness, Hope & Encouragement To The Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia

For the past couple years, Mitzi and I have had a blast volunteering with my church’s Vacation Bible School. I take pictures and do videos and she has been my self-proclaimed “Toter,” carrying my camera bag around while I capture the fun moments of the kids. Many people from my church have told me they have been so blessed to have shared Mitzi with her home church. She has told me time and again how grateful she has been to have been so lovingly embraced and welcomed there.

The folks who work on all the visuals for VBS start months and months and months before (honestly, just about as soon as VBS ends, they are planning for the following year!). So today, we got to help some of the amazing crew of dedicated volunteers paint. This year, I know it won’t be possible to have her with me as my Toter because it is just too fast-paced, loud, and chaotic for her now (it almost was last year, truthfully). I was so grateful that Mitzi got to be there today as they painted…when late June rolls around and the kids are all going wild looking at all the decorations, I’ll be able to smile at the memory of Mitzi being there today to add her special brand of sunshine to the process. ????
