There is much that I would love to share about the exciting things that are happening in this next phase of my life after Mitzi left it. And I will, as time gives way to this tree bearing fruit. I often looked at Mitzi’s life with Alzheimer’s like the tree in the logo on our page that my sweet artist-friend Nancy drew to life for me a few years ago. It was inevitable that, as the winds of this dementia disease blew across Mitzi’s days, the leaves would eventually all blow away. And they did. The last one finally quit clinging to its branch on September 23, 2019. Then, the tree was bare. And that was hard for a season. But it was made evident to me that, just like the fact that we don’t chop down a real tree when it has lost its leaves, this tree, though bare for a time, was waiting for a new spring when it could begin to sprout little green shoots from its branches. More roots would grow. And new limbs would begin to sprout out. When I saw the bare tree a little over a week ago with the cardinal in it, I knew that was my sweet friend reminding me that spring is already on the way, and encouraging me that I, undoubtedly, still have work to do. Not only to keep moving forward for Mitzi, but for all of those living with dementia. This is a calling I’ve been being prepared for my whole life.I can’t wait to share more of what is in the works, but I so would appreciate your prayers and continued encouragement as the winter gives way to spring in the life of I’ll Remember For You…????
