Bringing Awareness, Hope & Encouragement To The Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia

This gal has one of the most incredible attitudes of anyone I know. In the history of ever. When I let myself, I get overwhelmed at the thought of what it would be like living every day knowing that there is a ticking clock on your memories and independence. Of course we all have a ticking clock. And I could get hit by a bus tomorrow. But somehow it’s different when you’ve been given a diagnosis for a disease that has yet to have a cure.

This morning I read Mitzi an article about not putting off happiness until you achieve various goals. Happiness is found when you allow yourself to be happy. The key to happiness is finding a way to be content in all circumstances (gratitude is everything!). Mitzi is an expert in this. She is always saying that “it is what it is” in terms of the various “perks” of having Alzheimer’s. But she embodies the rest of the saying…that “it will become what you make it.”

There’s a good lesson for all of us in that. ❤️
