Being in relationship with people changes who you are…that’s why it is so imperative to surround yourself with those folks who will help you grow and become a better version of yourself. Many times over the years that I’ve been blessed to be Mitzi’s sidekick, she has expressed her gratitude for me being her friend. And just as many times, if not more, I have had to list off for her all of the many ways that she has made a tremendous impact not only in my life, but in the lives of my family and friends who have been touched by her strength, faith, and incredible spirit.

I am always amazed by the ways God weaves connection through our lives and into the fibers that make up the fabric of our stories. Connection is so important to Mitzi. Even now when we are out and about, if she hears a common first name she recognizes as someone from her long list of friends and family, her face will instantly light up at the familiarity. I have been blessed many times over to have been able to help her stay connected in the last few years; to be able to witness the fruit that has come up from the seeds of friendship she has planted over the years. What a gift for me to have learned the importance of connection from this sweet friend who has truly perfected the art…????
