Bringing Awareness, Hope & Encouragement To The Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia

The (Wo)Man In The Mirror

The experience today of being made to feel like we were the high maintenance customers because I asked for extra utensils and an extra bowl and didn’t have a huge order ended with a sweet turnaround once the manager overheard and took inventory of the situation. After I explained the Alzheimer’s part…and then explained, “Yes…Alzheimer’s. She’s only 58. I know; it’s totally unbelievable,” then all was right with the world. He even delivered our food to the table personally.

The next time he saw me he said, with emotion almost overtaking his voice, “My grandfather had that. Thank you for what you’re doing.”

What a great gift at lunch today…that was only enhanced by the fact that our table had a mirror next to it, so every time Mitzi leaned forward and saw her reflection, she got so excited that there were such nice friends at our table. ????????
