Bringing Awareness, Hope & Encouragement To The Fight Against Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia

$10,000!

The sobering truth of the statement in this picture still stings this week.

For the past 3 years, I’ve tried to be Mitzi’s voice and advocate in the face of Alzheimer’s. But there was a compassionate and fun element to that job. Now that Alzheimer’s has claimed yet another precious life close to me, I’m ready to put my gloves on.

We weren’t sure if Mitzi was going to still be here by the time the Alzheimer’s Association’s annual Walk To End Alzheimer’s was scheduled to happen. But we created a team for her anyway because we knew how important the Walk is in raising awareness for this incurable, untreatable disease. (Not to mention how much we knew Mitzi would approve of people WALKING in her honor!).

It was recommended that we set a goal of $2,000 since this was our first Walk. Friends, I just got a notification that the Moving Forward For Mitzi Team has just surpassed the $10,000 mark!!!???? I am totally blown away! I got to know many of Mitzi’s friends and relatives over the years and I don’t even have a clue who many of the donors are! I don’t even have the words to convey my heartfelt gratitude that you are supporting my sweet friend in such an overwhelming way!

If you have not yet, please consider joining us in spirit or on foot on November 16th. Or, help us by sharing this post or this page to get the word out.

Mitzi, thank God, is no longer having to walk through the valley of Alzheimer’s anymore. But we can now walk in her honor to help fight the disease that stole her and millions of others from us.
